Are you raring to complete Dark Hearts in Hollow Knight: Silksong? This Hunt-type side quest will have you roaming all over Pharloom in search of strange entities known as Void Masses. Of course, various enemies will also attempt to stymie your progress. We’ve got you covered with our guide, but be forewarned that there are spoilers ahead.

How to complete Dark Hearts in Hollow Knight: Silksong – Void Masses locations guide

Dark Hearts is a quest that’s only available during Act 3 of the campaign. That means you need to complete the Silk and Soul quest during Act 2 to have access to the next chapter. Here’s what you can expect:

• The Dark Hearts wish comes from the wish board in Bellhart. You’re tasked with destroying 12 Void Masses. These look like mish-mashed amalgamations of various creatures, all cobbled together by black goop.
• The presence of a Void Mass is usually denoted by corrupted enemies in the same area. These hostiles tend to have a shadowy hue and they have new attacks.
• Void Masses can also deal damage to Hornet. These entities use their tendrils to attack in melee and they fire black ooze from a distance.
• There are more than 12 Void Masses in the game. Some regions even have three or more of these targets.

Void Masses in The Marrow and Mosshome

If you want to quickly complete the Hollow Knight: Silksong Dark Hearts quest, then your best bet is to check out The Marrow. That’s because the region has no less than five Void Masses:

• Location #1: At the top of a room directly to the left of the Moss Druid NPC.
• Location #2: In a small nook to the left and below the Bellway fast travel point.
• Location #3: Go down from the previous location and make a right. Head past the bench and check the top-left corner of the next room.
• Location #4: Keep going to the lower-right corner, which leads to the Deep Docks exit. There’s a Void Mass that’s reachable via the platforms.
• Location #5: There’s another one on the ceiling near the bottom exit of Bellhart.

Void Masses in Far Fields

You can find additional Hollow Knight: Silksong Void Masses in Far Fields:

• Location #1: To the left of the Bellway fast travel point and bench.
• Location #2: In the chamber opposite the area with the vendor hut and bench.
• Location #3: Along the pathway that leads to the main boss if you’re tackling The Old Hearts quest.

Void Masses in Greymoor

There are several Void Masses in Greymoor, too:

• Location #1: Destroy the vines to the left of the Bellbeast if you haven’t done so yet. Continue to the cellar and watch out for the rat enemies.
• Location #2: The creature is hanging on a wooden scaffolding overlooking the path to Bellhart’s eastern exit.
• Location #3: At the top of the open area opposite a dais that has a Spool Fragment.

Void Masses in Shellwood

We found a couple of Hollow Knight: Silksong Void Masses in Shellwood. Both of them are fairly close to the bench at the right-hand side of the zone–i.e. near the exit to Bellhart.

• Location #1: Directly below the bench at the right-hand side of the zone.
• Location #2: Make a left from the area with the bench. Then, look at the ledge below you.

Void Masses in Blasted Steps

You can check out Blasted Steps to obliterate additional Void Masses:

• Location #1: Along the main pathway that leads to Grand Gate.
• Location #2: In the same room where you fought the Great Conchflies earlier in the campaign.
