- Charms belong to certain groupings. Some are for offense, while others are for defense. There are also those with utility functions.
- You can equip multiple charms at any given time. However, you have to obtain more charms to unlock the remaining slots.

Region 1 charm locations map
The map above has the locations of the Ghost of Yotei charms in the first region. Several can be purchased from Taro, a vendor NPC that your character, Atsu, befriends. Others can only be acquired if you go off the beaten path and explore thoroughly.
Charm location #1: Taro (Charm vendor)
Location: The young rascal, Taro, is actually an expert scavenger who joins your “Wolf Pack” group. We found him due south of Shikotsu River where he was being accosted by two ronin. Here are some of his wares:
- Charm of Last Chance – Automatically heals you when you suffer lethal damage during combat. This costs one-third of your maximum spirit.
- Charm of Fortune’s Grip – If disarmed, your weapon lands closer and you earn a sake jar.
- Charm of Confident Strikes (upgradable) – Gain +1 spirit when you stagger an enemy with the Katana.
- Upgrade challenge – Stagger sword enemies with the Katana.
- Charm of Healing – Increases the potency of your Heal Technique while at half health or below.
- Charm of Furious Attacks (upgradable) – Tempest Strike deals a minor amount of additional damage.
- Upgrade challenge – Stagger polearm enemies with your Dual Katana.
Note 1: Taro gains additional wares as you progress through the campaign and obtain new weapon types.
Note 2: After rescuing Taro, he might reappear while you’re camping in the wilderness.
Charm location #2: Charm of Bountiful Harvest
- Location: You can get this Ghost of Yotei charm by completing the Old Trails side quest–i.e. it’s where you get to pick a horse mount. Once you’ve finished the quest, go to the chopped down tree where Atsu’s father left a charm during the flashback.
- Effect: Increases the amount of wood, flowers, and plants that you collect.
Charm location #3: Mother’s Charm and Father’s Charm
- Location: These two charms in Ghost of Yotei can be quite challenging to obtain. Here’s the gist:
- In Atsu’s Home, relive past memories and talk to Atsu’s mother and father. You’ll learn about how Atsu’s parents made the trek to the top of Mount Yotei.
- Go to the Mount Yotei Shrine location and enter the cavern.
- There are multiple segments where you have to jump, climb, and grapple all the way to the summit of the mountain.
- At the very top, you’ll see a shrine that you can interact with. This nets you the two items, along with the “Inheritance” trophy.
- Effect:
- Mother’s Charm – Increases the damage of your arrows by a minor amount.
- Father’s Charm – Perfect parries restore a minor amount of health.
Note: You might notice a rope mechanism that you can use to go back down to the base of the mountain. Don’t interact with this object just yet. That’s because there are other goodies at the peak of Mount Yotei, including an Altar of Reflection. If you take the shortcut, then you’d have to go through all the climb-jump-and-grapple sections once more.
From lush and fertile valleys to fortresses guarded by dozens of samurai, you’ve got your work cut out for you as Atsu. Don’t fret, though, because we have a Ghost of Yotei guides hub to help you every step of the way.
Charm location #4: Charm of Thoughtful Restoration
- Location: This item seems to be your reward for finding your first Hot Springs location, whichever that might be.
- Effect (upgradable): Gain a minor increase to your maximum health.
- Upgrade challenge: Visit all eight Hot Springs to increase the potency of the effect.
That does it for our guide on where to find all charms in Ghost of Yotei. We’ll keep you posted once we’ve acquired other accessories, so stay tuned. For now, though, you might want to unlock the best skills to complement your gear pieces.
