Call Of Duty Season 6 Arrives To Black Ops 6 And Warzone With Chucky, A Chainsaw, And A Slasher Mode

Season 6 arrives to Black Ops 6 and Warzone on October 9, and Call of Duty’s annual The Haunting event returns for another year of spooky festivities. The big update adds iconic horror characters as playable operators, with Jason Voorhees, the Predator, and Chucky all arriving to Call of Duty this season. Players can also expect a new battle pass, spooky maps, more DLC weapons to unlock, as well as plenty of seasonal content.

Call of Duty Season 6 start times

Call of Duty Season 6 arrives to Black Ops 6 and Warzone on October 9, and the update will go live around 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.

The Haunting event

As always, Call of Duty’s The Haunting is packed with Halloween-themed content and events. This includes daily login rewards, the Echoes of the Dead event with new cosmetic rewards, and a Chucky movie event with a paid pass. The paid pass will include operator skins for both Chucky and Tiff. Additionally, a Tapes of Terror event will include Zombies-themed content as well.

Jason Voorhees arrives

Call of Duty is also adding the iconic Jason Voorhees as an operator later in the season as a paid bundle. However, it’s important to note that these operator skins will not carry over to Black Ops 7. Activision canceled the carry forward program that would transfer the skins over to the new game. However, the operator skins will be available to use in Call of Duty: Warzone.

New battle pass

Season 6’s battle pass is spooky-themed, and the highlighted operator is The Predator. The Predator has not been in a Call of Duty game since 2014’s Call of Duty: Ghosts, and now the character is back as an operator in the paid portion of the battle pass. There is also a new BlackCell DLC bundle, which features the demonic-looking “Dread” operator.

New weapons to unlock

Season 6 includes a few new DLC weapons. The iconic MP40 returns to Call of Duty, but this year it’s renamed in Black Ops 6 as the Dresden 9mm submachine gun. The gun is available to unlock for free in the battle pass. The Merrick 556 assault rifle is another new gun, and it’s also available for free in the battle pass.

Later in the season, two new weapons will arrive in the game. This includes the chainsaw melee weapon, and a special weapon called X52 Resonator, which looks like some sort of alien blaster gun.

Players can transform the X52 Resonator by adding one of three unique Shard crystal attachments, with each offering a different style of attack. The Orbed Eruption Shard creates a versatile multi-shot, the Spiked Barrage Shard has a slow but lethal seven-round burst, and the Stone Escalation Shard offers a powerful charge shot.

Additionally, the update will also include new attachments to unlock for use in the Gunsmith.

New multiplayer maps

Season 6 includes three new maps and a spooky variant of Nuketown. Gravity is a medium-sized map which features a room with low gravity. Rig is a small map themed around a spooky truck stop. Mothball is another small map, and this one is inspired by the research facility in the Black Ops 6 Campaign level called Emergence.

Nuketown gets transformed into Boo-Town. This version of the map takes place after the sun has set, and it features plenty of Halloween decor, including massive animated spiders that crawl on the rooftop of the green house.

New slasher-themed multiplayer mode

The Haunting is also celebrating with a new slasher-themed multiplayer mode called Slasher Deathmatch. This round-based mode randomly selects two players to be slashers at the start of each round, while all others players are deemed survivors. There are two versions of the mode, one with Jason and the other featuring Chucky, but the rules are the same for both versions.

The survivors win the match if both slashers are eliminated or if the remaining survivors make it to the end of the round. The slashers win if all survivors are eliminated before time runs out. Additionally, survivors automatically scream every 30 seconds, so they’ll have to stay on the move to try to survive.

New Zombies mode content

For Zombies, the Season 6 update includes the new Haunted Havoc limited-time mode. This lets players battle against “Rampage-Induced” zombies with pumpkin heads and access powerful items from jack-o’-lanterns. The mode will be available to play across all six of Black Ops 6’s Zombies maps.

There’s also a new GobbleGum added for the holiday. The Jacked Lantern GobbleGum is categorized as a Whimsical gum, adding pumpkin heads to zombies even when players aren’t playing Haunted Havoc.

New seasonal Zombies leaderboard events are also included.

Zombies invade Warzone

The Haunting arrives to battle royale. The update includes The Haunting nighttime variants of both Verdansk and Rebirth Island. The popular Zombie Royale mode also returns for the event, bringing new zombie abilities and features.

Casual modes get to enjoy the undead action as well. Casual Z lets players experience Warzone’s casual mode (a mix of bots and human players) on the new Haunting-themed versions of the map. The mode will feature regular and armored zombies to fight.
