October brings the Player’s Choice sale, a PS Store promotion that allows PS4 and PS5 players to save up to 75% on some of the best video games the digital storefront has to offer. That includes this roguelike turn-based RPG that surprised gamers in 2016.
Darkest Dungeon is less than $4 on the PS Store
Developed by Red Hook Studios, Darkest Dungeon is just $3.74 on the PS Store right now. That is 85% off of its typical $24.99 price tag. PS4 and PS5 players who want to take advantage of this will want to act fast. The offer ends on October 23 at 2:59 a.m. ET.
Here’s a brief description and a trailer for Darkest Dungeon:
“Recruit, train, and lead a team of flawed heroes through twisted forests, forgotten warrens, ruined crypts, and beyond. You’ll battle not only unimaginable foes, but stress, famine, disease, and the ever-encroaching dark. Uncover strange mysteries, and pit your heroes against an array of fearsome monsters with an innovative strategic turn-based combat system. Can you stem the tide of eldritch horrors erupting across your family’s ancestral estate?”
Players who know they’ll love Darkest Dungeon should consider grabbing the Ancestral Edition, which includes the Crimson Court, Shieldbreaker, and Color of Madness DLCs. Currently, this edition of the game is $11.99, a 70% discount off its usual $39.99 price point.
Players who buy Darkest Dungeon for the PS4 will also get the PS Vita version along with it. So, players who still play their Vita from time to time will have more of an excuse to play PlayStation’s handheld.
When Darkest Dungeon was originally released for PC back in 2015, it received solid review scores. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 84 across 56 critic reviews. In our review, we gave it an 8 out of 10.
