Alan Wake developer Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that CEO Tero Virtala has stepped down, effective immediately. The announcement came just days after Remedy confirmed that the studio’s latest release, FBC: Firebreak, had “weak” sales and that the company would incur a profit hit.
Virtala was Remedy’s CEO since 2016. A search is now underway for a new CEO, Remedy said, and for the time bing, Virtala will “continue at the service of the company” as part of the handover process.
Remedy co-founder Markus Mäki is taking over as interim CEO. He is vacating his position as chairman of the board and will be replaced in that position by Henri Österlund.
