One of DC’s brightest and most opportunistic heroes is about to make a big return, as Booster Gold is getting his own TV series. Announced as part of the new DC Universe film and television initiative being led by James Gunn and Peter Safran, this will be a comedy series, with Gunn describing it as “imposter syndrome as a superhero.”

A fan-favorite character, Safran added (via Variety) that Booster is “a loser from the future who uses basic future technology to come back to today” and pretends to be a superhero. Booster Gold is no stranger to TV and has appeared frequently over the years in numerous DC Comics animated series.
A disgraced football player from the 25th century, Booster Gold (Michael Jon Carter is his real name) eventually found himself working night shifts at his local museum, and deciding to make a name for himself in the past, he stole superhero gear from the museum displays and traveled back to the 21st century.
