Survival game Sons of the Forest launched today, February 23, on Steam Early Access, and the game had a huge start. Data from SteamDB shows that the game has exceeded 100,000 concurrent players right out of the gate. At press time, it’s reached 200,000 concurrent players.
Additionally, Sons of the Forest sits on top of Steam’s best-seller list right now.
Developer Endnight said it opted to release Sons of the Forest on February 23 instead of delaying it again so it could work alongside the community to shape the game. “There is still so much more we want to add: items, new mechanics, gameplay balance, and more,” the studio said.
