Studio Trigger had brought a franchise back to life with their Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series, and now the studio has teamed up with Odyssey Interactive for a short animated intro for their game Omega Strikers.
Check this out:
Here’s the official description for the game:
Smash opponents off the arena and score goals in this lightning-fast 3v3 footbrawler. Sling slimes, toss tofu, and rocket boost to victory as one of 15+ stylish Strikers.
Like any game that isn’t story-heavy, the characters for Omega Strikers actually look pretty neat, and Trigger has managed to give them a lot of personality and style when they applied their own animation to the characters.
I wouldn’t actually mind if someone decides to add some lore to this fantasy air hockey game. Who knows, maybe we could be looking at the next Arcane with these characters. I wouldn’t even mind if they brought back Trigger to animate the whole thing.
The game was originally set to launch in September of last year, but I guess multiple delays have opted for the release to be this April. That being said, it looks like Omega Strikers has a very simple premise, and I can imagine a lot of kids wanting to play the game, since it’s free-to-play after all.
Omega Strikers launches on April 27 for Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS.
