Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Releases In December, Far Cry-Like Gameplay Revealed

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora kicked off the Ubisoft Forward presentation on June 12, and Ubisoft Massive’s first-person action-adventure game promises to transport you Pandora on December 7 to fight as a Na’vi just like you’ve seen in the two films.

The trailer–which was a mix of cinematic footage and in-engine gameplay captured from a PlayStation 5–showed off the game’s massive world, with wild creatures, sprawling horizons, and a mixture of first- and third-person gameplay both on the ground and in the air. The story follows an original story in the Avatar universe, with a Na’vi who had been placed into cryosleep 15 years prior to the events of the game at its center.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will take place on a section of Pandora called the Western Frontier, which has not been seen in either Avatar movies released thus far. It will feature a cast of new characters and a “reactive” world, and it’s coming exclusively to current-gen consoles and PC. Like Ubisoft Massive’s Star Wars project, it makes use of the Snowdrop engine.
