Cyberpunk 2077 is only receiving a single expansion in the form of Phantom Liberty, but during Gamescom Opening Night Live, developer CD Projekt Red showed off more of the DLC that introduces some sweeping changes to its upcoming spy-thriller.
Included in the slick new trailer are details on the expansion’s 100+ new items, including new weapons and clothing options, an overhaul to the game’s skill tree, and Twisted Metal-like car combat, in which V can cruise down the street blowing up baddies on either side of them. As a reminder, not all of these upgrades require purchase of Project Liberty. Some improvements come to the game for all players.
Ahead of its release on September 26, CDPR has shared several other details on the game. The Phantom Liberty PC requirements now list an SSD as being a mandatory component needed to play the game, CDPR has explained why the expansion will cost $30, and the studio has dived into how the game draws on influences like Jason Bourne and James Bond for its themes.
