CoD: Warzone’s DMZ Mode Will Get Continued Support On Current Maps

Modern Warfare 3 is getting a big reveal during Call of Duty Next on October 5, and now Activision has confirmed that Warzone’s DMZ extraction mode will not be featured during the event. However, players can still enjoy the mode on Modern Warfare 2’s existing maps.

The official Call of Duty Twitter account tweeted to say that even though DMZ won’t be featured at Call of Duty Next, there will still be continued support of the DMZ beta. Activision says, “Players will have continuing infiltration opportunities for Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, Vondel, as well as Building 21 and Koschei Complex.”

This means players can enjoy the existing locations in the DMZ beta, but it looks unlikely that new maps will pop up in Modern Warfare 3’s Warzone. This isn’t too surprising as Zombies is confirmed as Modern Warfare 3’s cooperative mode, which is described as an open-world experience with survival elements and PvE extraction. This won’t be traditional round-based Zombies, and instead it sounds much like a mashup between DMZ and Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies Outbreak mode.
