The highly regarded 2022 horror movie Barbarian is getting a video game adaptation. Diversion3 Entertainment, which worked on Friday the 13th: The Game and Evil Dead: The Game, is developing the Barbarian game alongside New Regency Pictures. It’s in development for console and PC, according to the announcement from Bloody-Disgusting.
Those who have seen the movie might be wondering how the film might be adapted into a game, and we don’t know the answer yet. But Diversion3’s Tim Hesse said the game will “expand on the settings, characters, and creatures of Barbarian.”
The movie is best experienced without knowing anything about the plot–but suffice it to say, things are not what they seem in Barbarian. We won’t get into any story elements here. Hesse said the team at Diversion3 looks forward to exploring the movie’s themes further in the game.
