Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s new update today will add its long-awaited permadeath mode after a few months of delay.
The game’s permadeath mode is called Full Synchronization Challenge. In this mode, if Basim dies, your save file is permanently deleted. Basim also needs to avoid any illegal actions, such as killing citizens or going outside of authorized map locations. Doing so results in deletion as well. Instead of a game over screen if any of that happens, a new display pops up which shows various statistics. These include gameplay time, number of conflicts, cause of death, number of enemies killed, and chosen difficulty.
Furthermore, Full Synchronization can only be enabled when starting a new game from the title screen, and cannot be turned off once the game as started. To avoid any craft runarounds, both cross-progression between platforms and cloud saves will be disabled while playing in this mode. Players will also earn rewards such as talismans and costumes depending on which difficulty they complete the mode in.
