Pedro Pascal was supposed to star in Weapons, the upcoming horror movie from Barbarian writer-director Zach Cregger. Pascal had to drop out, and now it’s been revealed that Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin (Milk, Avengers: Endgame) is replacing him, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Production on Weapons was supposed to begin in Fall 2023 but shifted due to the Hollywood strikes. As a result, Pascal was no longer available because he is also committed to Marvel’s Fantastic Four, which begins filming this summer.
Cregger, who was once best known for the absurd sketch comedy group Whitest Kids U’ Know, broke into a new lane with 2022’s beloved Barbarian. After the huge success of that movie, Cregger scored an eight-figure deal for Weapons. Very little is known about the story for Weapons apart from being described as a “multistory horror” film similar to Magnolia.
