How to unlock all Lymbic Chests and Lymbic Doors in Hell Is Us

Lymbic Chests and Lymbic Doors are generally classified as Mystery-type quests. However, we’ve opted to create this guide separately due to the mechanics involved. Basically, these mechanisms require one or two Lymbic Rods. Sometimes, the items themselves might be in other areas, too.

Note: There are a few examples that are discussed in other guides due to interconnected quests. These include Forlorn Fate/Senedra Underground and Eternity/Senedra Hilltop.

Acasa Marshes: Vitalis’ Basement

• Chest/door location: This will likely be the first Hell Is Us Lymbic Chest that you can unlock in the campaign. It’s in Vitalis’ House in Jova.
• First rod location: The first rod is inside the office, which you gain access to after solving the Vitalis’ House Puzzle.
• Second rod location: You can pick up the second rod just outside Victor the Blacksmith’s forge.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Lymbic Mending

Acasa Marshes: Western Monument

• Chest/door location: While the descriptor says that it’s the Western Monument, the obelisk is actually at the southern edge of the map. It’s also where you’ll find the Waylaid Peacekeepers.
• First rod location: Found at the rocky outcropping near the submerged rally car with the Blacksmith Crafting Tome.
• Second rod location: Head down into the Jova sewers via the well in the village and make your way to the exit gate. The rod is near the exit.
• Reward:
  • Defensive gear: Brooch of Ecstasy – Delectable Recovery
  • Research item: Faded Blueprints

Acasa Marshes: Eastern Ruins

• Chest/door location: Found at the eastern edge of the map near the hill with large pillars–i.e. Martial Lineage Mystery.
• Rod location: Progress the campaign further into you reach Act 2. This lets you access the depths of Pathem Abbey in Acasa Marshes. The rod is next to the Timeloop in the cellar.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Lingering Pain – Enhanced

Vyssa Hills: Fort

• Chest/door location: This Lymbic Chest is in an enclosure, which also happens to have the Token of the Moon. Getting there is part of the Serpent Door objective.
• Rod location: As you tackle the Serpent Door objectives, you’ll eventually arrive at a wide clearing. The rod is the glowing item in the ruins.
• Reward:

Lake Cynon: Reservoir

• Chest/door location: Trying to open this Hell Is Us Lymbic Chest can be quite a doozy. It’s at the bottom of the drained pool, which you can access after completing the first Lake Cynon Puzzle.
• First rod location: Return to Acasa Marshes and go to the right-hand side of Pathem Abbey. You should see a glowing item at the end of the highway.
• Second rod location: To get this item, you need to enter Observation Outpost 08. The rod is smack dab in the middle of several Hollows inside the base.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Wave of Wrath – Elite

Lymbic Forge: Hall

• Chest/door location: You’ll stumble upon this chest just before the large door that leads to the waterwheel area. Head to the right and you’ll spot this fixture at the back of the chamber.
• Rod location: Explore the upper sections of the Lymbic Forge until you reach a room that has a statue wearing a blue piece of fabric.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Nightfade
  • Consumable: 2x Medium Lymbic Capacitor

Lymbic Forge: Dormitory

• Chest/door location: From the waterwheel chamber doorway, turn left and go up the flights of steps. The chest is in one of the dormitory rooms.
• Rod location: This item is fairly close to where you found the Lymbic Rod for the Hall chest. It’s placed next to the wine cellar.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Void
  • Leveling item: 2x Weak Tuning Stone

Lymbic Forge: Waterwheel Chamber

• Chest/door location: This Hell Is Us Lymbic Door is at the bottommost section of the waterwheel chamber. You can only get there once you’ve completed the Lymbic Forge Puzzle.
• First rod location: This will probably be the first rod that you’ll find in this entire dungeon. It’s in the initial area with several heroic statues.
• Second rod location: While exploring the waterwheel chamber, you’ll go through a narrow passageway that causes the gate to shut. Several Hollows will spawn, too. Take them out and check the corner to grab this item.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Shriek of Terror
  • Glyph: Gluttony – Enhanced

Marastan: Ruins

• Chest/door location: From the APC’s initial spot, keep heading to the left until you see the fortress ruins in the distance. Cross the stone path by the river and enter the cave. There’s a Vault of Forbidden Knowledge down below, as well as a means of getting to the interior of the ruins. Go up the steps and traverse the wall to reach the chest.
• Rod location: N/A
• Reward: N/A

Jeljin: Archaeology Camp

• Chest/door location: This Lymbic Chest is quite easy to spot. It’s on a truck at the archaeological dig site.
• First rod location: To get the first Lymbic Rod, you have to go all the way to the very end of the cave system in the dig site. Past the Timeloop, you’ll see another path that leads back to the surface. This takes you to the crypts near the plaza.
• Second rod location: The second Lymbic Rod, meanwhile, requires you to travel to Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy. Check the vehicle near where the APC is parked to get this item.
• Reward:

Auriga Museum: Lymbic Forge Waterfall

• Chest/door location: Completing this Hell Is Us Lymbic Chest quest might seem odd at first. That’s because the container is located in the Lymbic Forge. It’s at the left-hand side of the chamber where you place all the Keystones you’ve obtained.
• Rod location: The Lymbic Rod, funnily enough, is in Auriga Museum. You need to complete the main objective–i.e. destroy the Timeloop and acquire the Keystone of Rage–so you can make your way to the hidden storage room.
• Reward:
  • Glyph: Delirium – Enhanced
  • Consumable: 3x Medium Lymbic Capacitor

Plains of Mist: Temple of the Fallen

• Chest/door location: The chest is in the hallway just after you’ve completed the last Plains of Mist Trap Puzzle.
• Rod location: That said, the rod is actually in one of the lower sections. Specifically, it’s in an area with a pit full of mushrooms. Watch your step as you drop down the ledges.
• Reward:
  • Leveling item: 5x Strong Tuning Stone
