Apple Reportedly Making $1 Billion Push To Bring Its Movies To Theaters

Killers of the Flower Moon, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, may get a big theatrical release from Apple. Reportedly, the Cupertino company is looking to put forth $1 billion annually to make movies arrive on the big screen in addition to the streaming service Apple TV+.

Bloomberg adds that Apple has explored partnering with movie studios to get some of its films this year released theatrically. Possibilities include Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese; Argylle, directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Henry Cavill and Bryce Dallas Howard; and Ridley Scott’s Napoleon.

Apple wants its movies released in thousands of theaters for more than a month, per Bloomberg. The company apparently sees this as a way to not only appease creative talent, but also as a way to build the Apple TV+ brand. That said, nothing has been set in stone yet.
