Battlefield 2042 update 3.2 is here, bringing with it the reintroduction of the class system, alongside a change to the default controls.
The latest Battlefield 2042 update is quite a big one, the most substantial change being the return of the class system you might be familiar with from older Battlefield games. With this update, each Specialist has been assigned to a Battlefield class that “signifies the expected gameplay behavior of that particular Specialist,” as described in the patch notes.
While the selection of equipment and gadgets was previously open, they are now assigned to specific classes to encourage class-oriented gameplay, with the additional aim of providing structure to “assist with the readability of encounters while you’re on the Battlefield.” You can read the full list of which Specialists, class equipment, and class gadgets apply to each class in the patch notes, with more detailed notes for the overall changes in a recent dev blog.
