Activision has officially announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will launch on March 21. Despite the name, the game features both battle royale and traditional multiplayer. The game also features shared progression across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Warzone.
Warzone Mobile will be available across iOS and Android, with Verdansk and Rebirth Island available at launch with support for 120 players in a match on Verdansk and 48 on Rebirth Island. For multiplayer, there will be fan-favorite maps like Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard. Some of the available modes include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Search & Destroy, including Hardcore versions of these as well.
There is, of course, already a popular Call of Duty game for mobile, Call of Duty Mobile. Documents that came to light as part of Microsoft’s regulatory bid to buy Activision Blizzard revealed that Call of Duty Mobile is expected to be phased out when Warzone Mobile launches. GameSpot has contacted Activision to get additional clarification around this.
