Captain America: New World Order Makes Harrison Ford’s Thaddeus Ross President Of USA

Thaddeus Ross keeps climbing the career ladder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He started as a lieutenant general in the US Army and responsible for Bruce Banner becoming the Hulk. Then he became the secretary of state. And soon, he’ll be president in Captain America: New World Order.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige discussed the character’s upcoming role in the new Captain America film and Harrison Ford’s casting. The Indiana Jones actor is taking over for the late William Hurt, who first portrayed Ross in The Incredible Hulk back in 2008.

“[Ross is] the president of the United States in the film,” Feige said. “And with Harrison, you think about Air Force One, and you think about some of his confrontations with the president in Clear and Present Danger. There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”
