Aside from the odd pizza and energy drinks, food is a rarity in the world of Death Stranding. So what’s a weary porter supposed to do when they need a quick bite to eat? Grab a cryptobiote and chow down, that’s what. If you’ve ever been morbidly fascinated with these wriggly–and disturbingly fleshy organisms–the good news is that you can make some for yourself, thanks to Sony posting a recipe for them online. Even better, these are vegetarian-friendly, so you won’t be biting into any post-apocalyptic meat here.

The recipe looks simple enough, and it allows for you to craft several colorful variants of Cryptobiotes. All you need are a few ingredients like water, glutinous rice flour, and some white bean paste, and you can add some flavor with coffee powder and chili peppers to add some color to the end product. This will give you globs of food that you can roll into the correct shape, and with some fried hiyamugi noodles and chocolate sprinkles as a finishing touch, the end result should be something that Fragile would approve of.
Remember, a Cryptobiote a day keeps the Timefall away.
