Announced during The Game Awards, From Software isn’t done with Elden Ring just yet. Elden Ring Nightreign is releasing in 2025, described as a co-op action game. The trailer showed players working together to take out big bosses and fighting against each other. There were locations from both Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3 shown in the trailer as well, teasing a possible mash-up of locations.
As for exactly what Elden Ring Nightreign is, it’s not immediately clear outside of it being focused on co-op. It’s not just an update for Elden Ring, and there is also some elements of PvP as well. The trailer also shows a blue wall of fire moving across a landscape, similar to a closing ring present in battle royale games. There is also a brief glimpse of Melina, your Maiden companion from Elden Ring, in what appears to be a new conversation.

The end of the trailer features multiple players together, with the dialogue, “band together and prepare to claim the life of the Nightlord.,” with players entering a white door that looks similar to the one leading to the Elden Beast in the original game.
