If you’re a PC gamer, one of the best ongoing promotions can be found at the Epic Games Store. We’re approaching five years since the Epic Games Store launched, and the retailer has been giving away free games ever since. Every Thursday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, Epic offers at least one free PC game (sometimes two or three, though!). All you need to do to claim the free games is create a free Epic account and enable two-factor authentication to start snagging freebies. You have a week to add the freebies to your library before the new one(s) take their place. At this point, Epic has given away hundreds of free games, and there’s no sign that the program will stop any time soon. We keep this article up to date weekly to highlight both the current free games and next week’s offerings.

From now until October 26 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, you can snag The Evil Within and Eternal Threads. The Evil Within’s development at Tango Gameworks was led by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. You step into the shoes of Sebastian Castellanos, a detective who is trapped inside of a world filled with all sorts of terrifying beings. The Evil Within has a supernatural bent to it and leans hard into classic survival horror elements. Meanwhile, Eternal Threads is a first-person narrative-focused puzzle game where you have to alter past events to stop a deadly house fire.
