The PlayStation Store adds PS4 and PS5 demos on a fairly regular basis. Some players would consider many of them stinkers. However, sometimes, there is something actually worth checking out. That includes the new shooter, Silly Polly Beast, which players seem to be enjoying.

What is Silly Polly Beast?

Developed by Andrei Chernyshov and published by Top Hat Studios, Silly Polly Beast is a top-down action shooter that has its protagonist, Polly, fighting monsters of the underworld. Here’s a trailer of the game, as well as a brief description to give PS5 players an idea of what to expect from Silly Polly Beast:

“An otherworldly, story-driven shooter with aggressive gunfights and terrifying monsters awaits you. This is the story of a girl who, by the will of fate, faced the beast – and in order to become free, she was forced to study its nature. How far can you go in the fight for your freedom?”

As of this writing, reviews for Silly Polly Beast are pretty sparse, but they are currently averaging around a 73 on Metacritic based on two review scores. However, player reviews on PC gaming platform Steam are currently Very Positive. PS5 players also seem to be enjoying their time with the game, as player ratings on the PS Store are sitting at 4.40 stars, with 72% of those ratings being a five-star rating.

In order to play the Silly Polly Beast demo, PS5 players simply have to download it off the PlayStation Store. PlayStation Plus is not required to download the demo, so anyone can check out the new release.

For anyone who ends up liking their time with the Silly Polly Beast demo, they can purchase the full game right now. On the PlayStation Store, the game’s list price is $19.99. However, until November 12, PlayStation Plus subscribers can save 15%, bringing the game’s price down to $16.99.
