God of War Ragnarok Leads Pack In Nominations For The 2023 DICE Awards

God of War Ragnarok has the most nominations at the 2023 DICE Awards, with a total of 12. Horizon Forbidden West has eight, followed by Elden Ring with seven. In addition to those three, Stray and Vampire Survivors are contenders for Game of the Year. Immorality, Vampire Survivors, Moss: Book II, and Tunic have all received four nominations. A grand total of 61 games have been nominated across 23 categories. The full list of nominations is below.

The DICE Awards nominees are chosen by members of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, a group made up of developers and experts from across the industry. Meggan Scavio, President of AIAS, said in the official press release, “I wanted to give a special thank you as always to our peer panelists. They continue to dedicate their time and expertise in judging and selecting the best games of 2022. And on behalf of all of us at the Academy, congratulations to all our finalists! Each of the games selected have marveled us with their unique approaches to storytelling, creativity, and technical innovation. We can’t wait to celebrate your hard work and achievements at the 26th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards!”

At last year’s DICE awards, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart led the nominations and won awards for animation and art direction, though It Takes Two took Game of the Year. The 2018 reboot God of War won Game of the Year back in 2019.
