As you play Grow A Garden, you may have noticed that there are weather effects that happen on a semi-regular basis. These range from the more typical rain and snow to rarer phenomena such as solar eclipses or aurora borealis. Events also introduce their own unique weather effects, each one adding its own effects that can affect your garden.
The main advantage of experiencing certain weather effects in one of the best Roblox games is that they’re a key element to mutating plants. They’re not the only method available, as you can use the best Grow A Garden pets available to apply mutations to them instead, or mutate any at level 50 or above permanently with the dedicated machine next to the pet store. However, many mutations only occur during certain Grow A Garden weather conditions, so here we’ll explain how it all works, what all the weather effects are, and how Admin Abuse events smash this system wide open.
How Grow A Garden weather effects work
The longer you play the game, the more you’ll find plants you’ve grown will gain new Grow A Garden mutations. By keeping your plants in your garden and not harvesting them, you’ll find that they’ll change over time to adopt new properties. There’s no real way to manipulate when the weather effect occurs, but there are items like the Lightning Rod or Star Caller that can influence where some weather can strike and thus give your plants specific mutations.
Event weather works differently and is usually governed by its own countdown timers. For example, the Fall Market event has players deposit an assortment of plants to initiate a Full Bloom. This spreads the Fall mutation to your plants over the course of five minutes. Others didn’t need anything to start affecting your garden, but could be buffed via certain NPCs.
Weather effects do stack, and perhaps the best example of this is during the “Admin Abuse” events. These generally occur an hour before the next update goes live, with many weather effects not normally seen in-game happening. This is all at the whim of the admin who’s in charge of the event, whether it’s testing a brand-new weather effect for bugs or unleashing chaos by combining different ones at once. To give you a taste of what can happen, the admin Jandel used both the Spotlight and Under The Sea effects to create an underwater game of Red Light, Green Light.
