A month after Arrowhead Studios released free Helldivers 2 DLC to reward PS5, PC players for the PSN requirement backlash, the developer has dropped another free cosmetic add-on. This time, a special cape is being rolled out to reward players for their participation in the Station-81 Alternate Reality Game (ARG) back in May.
Helldivers 2 free Ingress-81 DLC is available in-game now
The Ingress-81 cape is available in-game now, and recognizes “those who bravely worked together many long hours to bring Station-81 back online in May.”
To recap the event, the ARG kicked off on YouTube, where participants were tasked with maintenance of the mysterious Station-81. The game required inputting certain commands correctly on the Helldivers 2 Discord.
It took players a couple of days to caliberate everything and reboot Station-81, and thus began a new story arc for Helldivers 2.
This free drop was released as a surprise, and players seem to be loving it.
It’s unclear if these capes will be available to Xbox Series X|S players when they dive into the world of Helldivers 2 in August. Earlier this month, Sony surprised everyone by announcing the game for Microsoft’s platforms. However, some Xbox players were left disappointed when it was confirmed that Helldivers 2 will not be part of Game Pass.
