How To Solve Reliquary Puzzles In Ghost Of Yotei

Are you perplexed as to how you’d be able to solve Reliquary Puzzles in Ghost of Yotei? These landmarks can be found in various regions of Ezo. Each one has a riddle that must be deciphered, and doing so nets you some nifty loot.

How to solve Reliquary Puzzles in Ghost of Yotei

Reliquary Puzzles appear as clusters of stone edifices. The large altar in the middle has a riddle that you can read. There are also four statues with sculptures and masks. You have to rotate these based on the given clues.

Yotei Grasslands Reliquary of Courage location and riddle

The first Ghost of Yotei Reliquary Puzzle is smack dab in the middle of the game’s first region. You can reach it by traveling directly west of the Old Inn.

The riddle has the following clues:

  • The boy was lost and alone
  • But the wolves came from every corner
  • Their eyes gazing at the true Mount Yotei

To solve this particular riddle, you just need to rotate all the wolf statues so that they’re directly facing Mount Yotei to the west. You’ll then receive the Charm of Mount Yotei if you do it right.

Note that the Charm of Mount Yotei reduces all damage taken by a minor amount. However, its effects become more potent as you continue to solve the Reliquary Puzzles in other regions.

Ishikari Plain Reliquary of Strength location and riddle

You can find another Ghost of Yotei Reliquary Puzzle in the Ishikari Plain region. It’s across the river directly east of the village.

The riddle has the following passage:

  • The mountain raised the boy as her own
  • Demons looked away from them in fear
  • But the wolf watched them both, ready to provide aid

This particular puzzle can be somewhat tricky. Basically, the boy and mountain refer to the large stone in the middle. The demons, naturally, are the pedestals with oni masks. Here’s what you need to do:

  • The wolf pedestal must face the large stone in the middle.
  • All three demon pedestals must face the direction of the brazier/fire.
  • That said, when you attempt to interact with a pedestal, the one to its right will also get rotated. A bit of trial and error is necessary if you want to complete this part.
