
Back in July, Sony Interactive Entertainment unveiled a new update that allows players to pair their DualSense wireless controllers across multiple devices. It also detailed another new feature, which the company has announced will finally be rolling out in a new PS5 update tomorrow, September 17: Power Saver.
The PS5 Power Saver feature is a new option that allows players to reduce power consumption by scaling back game performance. When the feature is active, VR mode is unavailable and some gameplay features may be limited. If the feature is not enabled or if the game does not support the feature, the perks of Power Saver will not be implemented.

So, which PS5 games will support the new Power Saver feature? Well, it doesn’t seem to be a whole lot just yet. An extensive list has not yet been revealed, but there are a trio of PS5 exclusives that will support the feature in future updates. Here are the three games that will support the PS5 Power Saver feature:
For players who want to know how to enable Power Saver, here are some quick step-by-step directions on how to do so, as listed by Sony:
- Go to Settings > System.
- Select Power Saving > Power Saver for Games
- Turn on Use Power Saver and select which games you want to play using power saver.
A Power Saver icon will appear next to the game in Switcher for players who have power saver turned on.
The PS5 Power Saver feature is essentially part of its Road to Zero environmental plan, which launched back in 2010. This is the name for Sony’s commitment to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
