After its initial reveal in December 2022 and a few updates since then, Riot Games’ upcoming fighting game Project L is officially shedding the “project” title. The studio has revealed that the League of Legends spin-off title is now known as 2XKO, and that the game will launch in 2025 for consoles and PC.
2XKO is a 2v2 tag-based fighting game–think Marvel Vs. Capcom–which stars champions from Riot’s ultra-successful MOBA game League Of Legends. Seven champions have been confirmed for the game’s playable roster so far:
- Ahri
- Darius
- Ekko
- Illaoi
- Jinx
- Katarina
- Yasuo

The official announcement says that development will continue “alongside the fighting game community. This includes, according to Riot, “more opportunities for the FGC to playtest the game in progress, as well as provide valuable feedback to the dev team.”
