As part of a recent video with Tokita, the producer answered some questions, one of which was in relation to a possible sequel to the hit RPG. “If the Steam and PlayStation editions of the game can sell a million copies, then I would be very confident in proposing a Live A Live 2 to the company,” Tokita said. “So I need all of you guys [to] help with that.”
The Live A Live remake, which launched for Nintendo Switch in 2022, has sold at least 500,000 copies, but it’s unknown how well the game has performed, commercially, on other platforms. It eventually came to PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam in 2023, and was critically well-received.
