Tom Cruise looks primed to have another hot box office summer. Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 may bring in $250 million worldwide over the film’s first five days in theaters.
Deadline reports the seventh movie starring Cruise as Ethan Hunt could have a record-setting start for the franchise. Estimates show Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 earning $90 million domestically combined with $160 million internationally.
Among the reasons cited for the possible stellar start, Deadline points to strong Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 reviews as well as a halo effect from Top Gun: Maverick. The latter lit up the box office last summer and became Cruise’s first film to make $1 billion in theaters. This is the actor’s first film since reprising his role as Maverick.
