Naughty Dog just released a surprise patch for its critically lauded and award-winning third-person action game, The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The PS5 update doesn’t do a ton to excite players, but it does add some fixes to the game, including a few for its new implemented Chronological mode.
TLOU 2 Remastered PS5 patch is now available to download
Although it occurred in “rare instances,” arguably the most exciting fix from the TLOU 2 Remastered PS5 patch is the fix where Ellie would be missing her pistol at the end of the Hillcrest chapter. The Chronological mode’s fixes are tied to audio. Specifically, an issue was fixed where voice-over audio would be missing during the Ground Zero chapter, as well as a fix where subtitles would be missing during some cutscenes.
Chronological mode was released at the beginning of last month in the 2.1.0 patch. Without going into spoilers, this allowed players to experience the story of TLOU 2 in chronological order rather than its standard, and somewhat divisive, story structure.
Like any other update, today’s TLOU 2 Remastered PS5 patch is free and can simply be downloaded directly from the user’s console by starting the game.

A patch for The Last of Us Part II Remastered is now available. This update addresses a variety of minor issues.
General
- Fixed an issue where Ellie would appear with multiple bracelets when bonus skins were equipped
- Fixed an issue where voice-over audio would be missing at the start of the chapter “Ground Zero” when playing on Chronological mode
- Addressed an issue where subtitles during certain cutscenes would not appear when playing on Chronological mode
Gameplay
Fixed an issue where, in rare instances, Ellie could be missing her pistol at the end of the chapter “Hillcrest”
