
WD has just announced a new version of its popular PCIe 4 SSD, making it one of the cheapest yet fastest 8TB M.2 SSDs around. The new 8TB WD Black SN850X is still a pricey option, but could save you as much as $220 compared to some other 8TB drives.
The 2TB version of this WD drive has the top spot on our best gaming SSD guide, thanks to its great balance of performance and value. However, for most gamers, we wouldn’t recommend paying so much money for the 8TB version, especially when most motherboards these days can accommodate two or even three M.2 SSDs.
