In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the player will become part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, generally referred to as the Galaxy Team, as a crucial member of the Survey Corps to learn more about the Pokemon found in the Hisui region rather than engaging in battles in Pokemon Gyms and eventually becoming a Champion in a region like in the mainline Pokemon games. Finishing the Pokedex by catching and learning about each species of Pokemon in the area is one of the game’s main goals for the player.
This guide will discuss everything you need to know about Ambipom!
Ambipom
Ambipom, the 79th Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is a Normal type Long Tail Pokemon that has a purple body that resembles a monkey, a pair of large, light brown, round-tipped tails that look like hands with three fingers with red tips, two splitting hairs at the top of its head, a light brown face, a nose that looks like an upside-down letter “V,” and a pair of wide eyes with black irises.
Ambipoms, according to their Pokedex entry in the game, will form a ring by connecting their two tails to prove their kinship. On rare occasions, humans have been accepted into these Ambipom rings.
Basic Information
Ambipom is a Normal-type Pokemon, so it is weak (super effective) to Fighting-type moves and immunity (no effect) to Ghost-type moves.
Ambipom’s base stats are 75 HP, 100 Attack, 66 Defense, 60 Special Attack, 66 Special Defense, and 115 Speed for a total of 482.
Ambipom can evolve from an Aipom after it learns the Double Hit move.
Ambipom likes Springy Mushrooms, Hearty Grains, and Plump Beans, which can distract it before catching, battling, or simply feeding it food.
A Seed of Mastery and an Exp. Candy M will be dropped whenever an Ambipom is beaten or captured in the wild, which will be given to the player.
Location
The player can find an Ambipom in the following locations:
In the Cobalt Coastlands: in Aipom Hill and Hideaway Bay.

In the Alabaster Icelands: in the Arena’s Approach, around the Avalanche Slopes, and in Heart’s Crag.

Ambipom can be found in the locations mentioned at all times of the day and in every weather condition.
It is worth mentioning that the Ambipom found in Hideaway Bay is a Level 50 Alpha Pokemon. The Alpha Ambipom found in this area can also be found at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

Aside from that, Ambipom may also be found in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Cobalt Coastlands and the Alabaster Icelands and inside Space-Time Distortions.
Research Tasks
The following are the Research Tasks in Ambipom’s Pokedex entry:
Multiplier | Research Task | Objectives |
x2 | Number caught | 1/2/4/10/15 |
Number of alpha specimens caught | 1/2/3
Number defeated | 1/2/4/10/15
Number you have defeated with Fighting type moves | 1/2/5/10/20
x2 | Times you have seen it use Double Hit | 1/3/6/12/25 |
Times you have seen it use Iron Tail | 1/3/8/20/40
Times you have seen it use a strong style move | 1/2/4/10/15
Number of different forms you have obtained | 2 |
When a Pokemon reaches Research Level 10, its Pokedex entry is complete. When one of the objectives of a Research Task is met, a Pokedex entry’s Research Level is raised by one level. When an objective for a Research Task with a multiplier of x2 is accomplished, it is awarded two Research Levels instead of one.
To quickly complete Ambipom’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch the Alpha Ambipom in the Cobalt Coastlands, use it in battle, and use Double Hit thrice with at least twice of those in Strong Style, then use Iron Tail once.
Doing all these will tick the first objective of the “Number Caught” Research Task to add two Research Levels because of its x2 multiplier, tick the first objective of the “Number of alpha specimens caught” Research Task to add one Research Level, tick the first and second objective of the “Times you’ve seen it use Double Hit” Research Task which raises four Research Levels thanks to its x2 multiplier, tick the first and second objective of the “Times you have seen it use a strong style move” Research Task to raise two Research Levels, and tick the first objective of the “Times you have seen it use Iron Tail” Research Task to gain the final Research Level needed to reach Research Level 10.
