Pokemon Legends: Arceus Ultimate Shinx Guide

This game is set in the Hisui region of the Pokemon universe, later renamed Sinnoh. To finish Hisui’s first Pokédex, which is used to learn about Pokemon, the player must catch everyone in this region.

The player will be a member of the Survey Corps of the Galaxy Expedition Team (commonly known as the Galaxy Team) at Jubilife Village, tasked with studying the local Pokemon.

In this guide, we will learn everything you need to know about Shinx!

Shinx

Shinx, the fifteenth Pokemon in the Hisuian Pokedex, is an Electric type Flash Pokemon with a light blue and black back body that looks like that of a lion cub or lynx kitten, a pair of round eyes with yellow pupils, a pair of large and oval ears with yellow markings that are shaped like four-pointed stars, a small red nose, a small mouth, a tuft of fur on top of its head, smaller tufts of hair on each of its cheek, a light blue front half, a black back half, black marking around its neck, four legs with four paws and yellow bands on its forepaws, and a long tail that has a yellow star shape on its tip.

According to its Pokedex entry in the game, Shinx will shake its body to generate electricity. Its size contradicts its aggression, so patience is needed to tame it.

Basic Information

Shinx is an Electric-type Pokemon which means it has a weakness to Ground-type moves (super effective) and a resistance to Electric-type, Flying-type, and Steel-type moves (not very effective).

Shinx’s base stats are 45 HP, 65 Attack, 34 Defense, 40 Special Attack, 34 Special Defense, and 45 Speed, for a total of 263.

Shinx will evolve into a Luxio when it reaches Level 15, which then evolves into a Luxray when it reaches Level 30.

It’s important to know that if the player wants to try to lure Shinx with food before catching it, Shinx prefers Hearty Grains, Springy Mushroom, and Plump Beans

A Spoiled Apricorn and a Cheri Berry are given to the player when a Shinx is defeated or captured.

Location

Shinx can be found in the following locations:

Obsidian Fieldlands: in Aspiration Hills, Floaro Gardens, and slightly south of Oreburrow Tunnel.

Coronet Highlands: slightly northeast of Sonorous Path.

Shinx can be found in the locations mentioned above at all times of the day and in every weather condition.

Aside from that, the player can find Shinx in Massive Mass Outbreaks in the Obsidian Fieldlands and the Coronet Highlands.

Research Tasks

The following are the Research Tasks in Shinx’s Pokedex entry:

Multiplier Research Task Objectives
x2 Number caught 1/3/6/12/25
Number defeated 1/2/4/10/15
Number you have defeated with Ground type moves 1/2/4/6/10
x2 Times you have seen it use Quick Attack 1/3/6/12/25
Times you have seen it use Bite 1/3/6/12/25
Number of forms you have registered 2
x2 Number you’ve evolved 1/2/3

The player must fulfill an objective for a particular Research Tasttoto to raise a Shinx’s Research Level by one except tasks within a multiplier of x2, which raises two Research Levels for finishing one. The player must complete Shinx’s Pokedex entry by advancing to Research Level 10.

To quickly complete Shinx’s Pokedex entry, the player can catch six Shinx, which ticks the first, second, and third objective of the ‘number caught’ so it immediately raises the Research Level to 6 because of the x2 multiplier, then use one of the Shinx in battle and use Quick Attack three times, which ticks the first and second objective of the ‘times you’ve seen it use Quick Attack’ Research Task, to reach Research Level 10.

Relevant Requests

Shinx is involved in Request 3, called “What Did Shinx’s Ears Look Like?”

The player will be able to unlock this request after completing Mission 3, called “The Basics of Crafting, which is part of the main storyline.

In order to start this request, the player must head to the Photography Studio just before the Front Gate in the northeast of Jubilife Village. Outside the Photography Studio, the player can find a man in blue clothes named Toshi.

Talk to Toshi, and he will say that he wants the player to show him a Shinx because he can’t remember what the marking on its ears looks like. Then, just like that, the “What Did Shinx’s Ears Look Like?” Request has started!

In order to complete this request, the player must catch a Shinx and show it to Toshi. As mentioned above, the player can find a Shinx just ahead of the path of the Fieldlands Camp in Aspiration Hill in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Alternatively, if the player has already caught a Shinx, the player can just talk to Toshi immediately to finish the request. It does not matter if the Shinx is in the player’s party or the Pastures.

After catching a Shinx, head back to the Photography Studio in Jubilife Village, and talk to Toshi just outside of the Photography Studio; select the Shinx on the prompt, and Toshi will remember that there are yellow, star-like markings on Shinx’s ears. He will then thank the player as not knowing about the marking on Shinx’s ears really bothered him.

After that, Toshi will reward the player with three Potions for your efforts and the “What Did Shinx’s Ears Look Like?” Request is now completed!

Now that the player has a Shinx and is familiar with it, they can attempt to use it to perform requests, missions, or Arceus’ assignment for the player—to catch ’em all!
