Pokémon Presents August 2023: Everything Announced So Far

The Pokémon Presents event for August 2023 is now live and promises 35 minutes of brand new Pokémon announcements.

The Pokémon Company didn’t let us know what would feature in particular, whether it’s the games, anime, trading cards, or whatever else, but we’re at least expecting announcements surrounding the upcoming Scarlet and Violet DLC.

Pokémon: Path to the Peak is a New Animated Series Focused on the Trading Card Game

At the start of the event, we got a first look at Pokémon: Path to the Peak, a new animated short series focused on the official Pokémon Trading Card Game. The new animated series will premiere at the Pokémon World Championships, which begins later this week.

Detective Pikachu Returns Gets New Trailer

We already knew that we were getting a sequel to the Nintendo 3DS game Detective Pikachu. And today, we got the first trailer for the game which introduced somew characters that will appear along with some gameplay. Most notably Detective Pikachu Returns will allow you to investigate various crime scenes.

Detective Pikachu Returns arrives on October 6 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

Pokémon Go is Getting Paldea Region Monsters Next Month

Nearly a year after release, Pokémon Go is finally getting pocket monsters that are native to the Pladea region. These Pokémon will be available starting next month.

Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Stadium 2 Are Finally Available on Nintendo Switch Online

After being teased that it was on the way to Nintendo Switch Online, the Pokémon Company officially announced today that both Pokémon Trading Card Game and Pokémon Stadium 2 are coming to the online susbcription service today. With both being available shortly after the conclusion of the presentation.

Pokémon Trading Card Game is available now for those with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription and those with Switch Online + Expansion Pack have access to that in addition to Pokémon Stadium 2.
