A popular 2023 PS5, PS4 game has been delisted from the PS Store without a warning by a major publisher yet again. Electronic Arts seems to be on a roll when it comes to expunging its back catalog, but its decision to remove EA Sports FC 24 less than two years after launch is puzzling.
PS5, PS4 game EA Sports FC 24 pulled from sale but you can still buy microtransactions
EA Sports FC 24 was quietly pulled from sale from all digital storefronts sometime over the weekend. I checked both the U.S. and U.K. PS Store pages and found no listing for the game. What I did find, however, was pages upon pages of microtransactions that existing players can still purchase.
A Google search for EA Sports FC 24 on PS Store leads to a page that lists the game as “announced.”
EA Sports FC 24 was the first installment in EA’s new series that serves as a replacement for FIFA. While it’s understandable why EA pulled its FIFA back catalog from sale, we’re not quite sure why EA Sports FC 24 was removed.
The game’s servers are still live but will inevitably be shut down, as is the case with all annual sports titles. The game does have online trophies, so if you’re planning to work towards those, now is a good time to start.
As a reminder, EA Sports FC 24 was a free PS Plus monthly game back in May 2024. All those who own the game will continue to have access to it, and will still be able to play offline after servers shut down.
