July 2025’s PS Plus Extra, Premium lineup was headlined by Cyberpunk 2077 but there’s another RPG that members shouldn’t overlook. Don’t Nod’s new IP Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden also joined the service this month, and those who’ve dabbled into the AA RPG have been taken by surprise.
Underrated RPG Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden received a PS5 Pro patch ahead of joining PS Plus
Players would be forgiven for overlooking Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden when it launched in February 2024. The game largely flew under the radars but its inclusion in PS Plus is shedding some much-needed light on the underrated RPG.
As a member of several popular PlayStation communities, I continue to see numerous threads pop up about Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, an overwhelming majority of which are positive.
“This game got added on PS Plus and I’m honestly hooked,” wrote Reddit user Strange-Win-3677. “I played something like 15 hours without even realizing how fluid it was going.”
“I just started and I love it! I’m very surprised!” reads a comment in response to the thread — one of dozens that I’ve come across over the last week.
The general consensus is that despite its flaws, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a promising new RPG IP, and those who enjoyed Don’t Nod’s Vampyr should definitely check it out.
PS Portal owners will be pleased to note that the game can be streamed on the handheld, and runs well. A PS5 Pro enhancement patch was also rolled out recently.
