An acclaimed 2001 classic action RPG is coming to PS5 next year, but players can try it out for free right now. There’s both good and bad news when it comes to Gothic 1 Remake. The bad news is that it was delayed to 2026. The good news is that all players can try a free demo as it isn’t locked behind PS Plus Premium.
Gothic 1 Remake brings acclaimed 2001 RPG to PS5 for the first time
Gothic 1 Remake demo is live on the PS Store. The game is coming to PlayStation for the first time ever, and PS5 players can now check out an exclusive stand-alone prologue.
The demo will introduce players to Gothic’s environment and main characters. The PS Store page doesn’t say if progress will carry over to the full game or not, but considering it’s a stand-alone prologue, players should expect to start fresh.
“In this sneak peek into the immersive world of Gothic, you’ll embark on a short quest that introduces the atmosphere, iconic characters, and the opening area of the game,” an official description reads. “Explore the colony at your own pace – talk to fellow inmates, uncover secrets, and engage in combat as you get a taste of what’s to come.”
A specific release date for Gothic 1 Remake has yet to be announced.
