PlayStation’s YouTube channel has published a new video showcasing 2025 PS5 games lineup, and players have been pointing out a glaring omission. Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine, which was announced just over three years ago, doesn’t make an appearance in the nearly two-minute long reel.
Will Marvel’s Wolverine be among PS5 games scheduled for release in 2025?
A year ago, Insomniac Games suffered a massive ransomware attack that resulted in a significant chunk of Wolverine’s footage, plot, and other information being leaked online. The leaks suggested that the game has been in a playable state for quite some time and development is further along than we thought. However, there’s some dispute over Wolverine’s release window.
Rumor has it that one of the leaked documents pegged Wolverine for a 2026 release, but we continue to hear murmurs of a late 2025 launch. As recently as October, a known leaker with a good track record claimed that Sony’s gearing up to showcase the title.
It’s possible that Wolverine’s release window has yet to be cemented, so it was left out of the trailer above. Then again, all we’ve seen of the game is an announcement trailer, so perhaps, Sony is waiting for a proper reveal first.
Whatever the case, we’re not expecting Wolverine to release until at least fall 2025. But we’ll keep our eyes peeled at The Game Awards 2024, which will take place tonight at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET.
