The Sons of the Forest shotgun location is one of the first you can find in the game, but that doesn’t mean you can retrieve the powerful weapon early. Found buried with your teammate in his modest Sons of the Forest grave, the shotgun is indicated by a purple marker on your GPS locator in the very first moments of the game, as you are sent on a search for ‘Team B.’

The Sons of the Forest purple marker in question appears on the north-west corner of the map, on land (the next nearest marker is in the ocean). Head there, and your GPS tracker – which operates as your Sons of the Forest map – will start to beep. In fact, it gets quite distracting, so once you know where you’re going you may want to put your map down using the ‘M’ button. Since you’re heading to a grave though, it’s worth mentioning that you’ll need to have found the Sons of the Forest shovel first, making uncovering the Sons of the Forest shotgun location trickier than it first appears.
