2021’s The King’s Man revealed just how the British spy network was established, and for the next entry in the prequel to the mainline Kingsman film franchise, director Matthew Vaughn will pit the organization against one of history’s greatest monsters: Adolf Hitler.
Vaugh had set up this inevitable showdown in the post-credits sequence for The King’s Man–with actor David Kross playing a very young Hitler–and at New York Comic-Con, he explained how the next film that is currently titled “The Traitor King” will focus on how the German dictator’s rise to power was in part supported by British high society.
“The next one it’s it is about the rise of Hitler, and how Hitler did come to power and basically was supported by the English aristocracy,” Vaughn said to Collider. “So I was like, ‘well that’s interesting’ and how the world was worrying so much about Communism, that Fascism rose up. And I look at the world at the moment, everyone getting distracted and worrying about this [and that] and if you worry too much about [this] bad things can happen here. So it is a story that I think needs to be recalled. We’re calling it The Traitor King.”
