Watch Announcement Trailer for The Lamplighters League

Check out the announcement trailer for The Lamplighters League and the Tower at the End of the World:

The Lamplighters League is set in an alternate 1930s, where a tyrannical cult called the Banished Court stands on the cusp of world domination. For millennia, all that stood between this sinister cabal and their plans was a band of heroic scholars known as the Lamplighters League.

Unfortunately, the best of the best are all gone, so now it’s up to the best of the worst.

Harebrained has also released a First Look video that gives a closer look at gameplay:

What’s interesting is that the game actually blends elements from both strategy and real-time stealth. Players actually infiltrate an area in real-time, and if they decide to make things dicey, then the strategy part comes in.

The game offers a roster of special characters, each with their own unique abilities. The developers emphasize that the choices of characters in the game actually come from a gallery of rogues, meaning they’re not really the heroic type that we should expect from the usual games. Then again, I always have fun with morally ambiguous characters, and it’s going to be interesting to see how they play out in the game.

Hopefully we get some more reveals soon.

The Lamplighters League has no specific release date yet, but it’s expected to launch for PC and Xbox sometime later this year.
