Change is on the way to Xbox consoles, as this month’s update will introduce keyboard mapping for select Xbox controllers, an easy way to import game captures from Xbox to edit in Clipchamp, and an experimental feature that’ll make it easier to jump into a game with your friends from your profile.
Keyboard mapping will be available for the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and the Xbox Adaptive Controller, allowing you to choose any button on your Elite Series 2 or port on your Xbox Adaptive Controller and remap it to your desired keyboard key.
An example of this in action would be mapping the left bumper to a keyboard letter or mapping modifier keys like Ctrl, Shift, Alt, and Win to a button, making it possible to perform actions like Ctrl + Shift + C with the press of a single button. Xbox says that there are over 100 games that support keyboard input on Xbox consoles, and nearly all games on PC are compatible.
