Battlefield 6 has already dropped its first PS5 exclusive DLC, and some Xbox players simply aren’t having it. PlayStation owners are being rewarded with the ‘Advance Party’ soldier skin simply for playing the open beta, and some folks think this is the start of yet another exclusivity deal by Sony.
Battlefield 6 PS5 exclusive DLC skin sparks exclusivity fears among players
Sony had a long-running exclusivity deal for Call of Duty, which ended when Microsoft acquired Activision. Many were expecting the company to turn to Battlefield, and with this surprise DLC drop, they say their fears weren’t unfounded.
Replies to the tweet above are full of exclusivity concerns, and these comments aren’t limited to X either. Reddit threads are also chock-full of complaints.
“Is this going to be a recurring trend during the BF6 lifespan?” asked one concerned player. “Just wondering before I preorder because I’m not going to pay full price to be a second class customer.”
“Jesus Christ, Sony couldn’t have Call of Duty anymore so they jumped ship to Battlefield,” another player complained. “Cool. Playing one match then deleting,” a third player warned.
Oh boy!
At this time, there’s no indication that Sony has any long-term exclusivity arrangements when it comes to Battlefield 6, but we won’t be surprised if it does.
