A surprise new PS5 AAA action adventure game has been announced, and it already has fans excited. There’s been an influx of Asian talent over the last year or two, and new Korean game Woochi the Wayfarer seems to be the next promising entry.

Developed by LoreVault and published by Nexon Games, Woochi the Wayfarer is inspired by classic Korean novel The Tale of Jeon Woochi, in which the protagonist uses his powers to “fight injustice and trick the corrupt.”

Woochi the Wayfarer is described as a “blockbuster” game featuring Jeon Woochi, a teaser for which you can check out below.

There’s some concern that Woochi the Wayfarer will be just another Soulslike, and we can see why. However, we’ve seen no gameplay yet and there’s currently no confirmation that we’re getting another Souls-inspired game.

Nevertheless, some players are already looking forward to Woochi the Wayfarer.

“Woochi the Wayfarer is a new title from Nexon Games that is being developed with the goal of delivering a game with quality and content that meets the expectations of the global market,” a press release reads. “LoreVault, the developer of Woochi the Wayfarer, is collaborating with experts in various fields such as Korean literature and traditional music to effectively represent Korea’s unique history and culture within the game.”

Something tells us that this game might have a wider appeal and won’t just be targeting hardcore Souls fans.

A release date has not been announced, and a PS Store page has yet to go live.
