Sony quietly dropped a PS Plus Premium game trial for a major new PS5 shooter that released back in May. Doom: The Dark Ages released to positive reviews, but seems to have flown under the radar. Premium users who are curious about the game can check it out now at no additional cost.
Doom: The Dark Ages PS Plus Premium trial can be streamed
Although Doom: The Dark Ages game trial is only an hour long, considering the length of the game, it’s ample time to get a feel for its gameplay and mechanics.
For context, it took me roughly 20 hours to 100% the game, which includes all mission challenges, collectibles, combat trophy requirements, etc. The campaign alone can be easily beaten in under 15 hours.
The game trial can be streamed, so players don’t need to download anything. I do recommend giving it a go if you’re on the fence about Doom: The Dark Ages.
PlayStation LifeStyle’s Tyler Treese thoroughly enjoyed the game while playing it for our review. I, on the other hand, wasn’t a huge fan. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid shooter and I liked it enough to pop the Platinum trophy, but it lacked the oomph for me and I could have waited for a price drop.
Try it for yourself and let us know what you think! As a reminder, game trial progress carries over to the full game, including trophies and collectibles. If you choose to buy the game, make sure to avail the current PS Store discount!
