Despite the official PSN server status displaying all green, it seems some PlayStation players are experiencing a partial PSN outage.
Partial PSN outage has been reported on and off since last night
As seen in several PlayStation subreddit threads, players are reporting PSN issues, some of which started occurring last night. A megathread on the topic was subsequently created by mods, in which PlayStation players are claiming that friend lists, trophies, or friends’ activity won’t load. Additionally, others claim that online games are unplayable. Some of these claims came in within the last hour.
The PSN issues don’t seem to be limited to any specific location, as users from the U.K. and the U.S. have stated they’ve had issues.
Additionally, not all users are impacted, as some say that they did not even know there were issues present with PSN. So, this isn’t quite on the same scale as the February 2025 PSN outage, which lasted an entire day and impacted many more players. But is clearly an issue that many players are experiencing right now.
In my small test to see if I was impacted, everything seemed to work fine. Initially, it looked like my friends list or friends’ activity tabs were not loading. However, after booting up an online-only game, everything seemed to work as intended.
PlayStation has not made a statement regarding the PSN outage yet.
Alongside the PSN outage, players looking to play the highly anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong may have had trouble earlier today. The game was slated to launch at 10 a.m. ET, but was only available to wishlist for roughly the first three hours of its launch. Silksong also broke the Steam store and the Nintendo eShop, so it seems today is a big day to have server issues for all gamers.
