Silent Hill f PS5 Pro Looks Great, But Suffers From PSSR Issues

Silent Hill f PS5, PS5 Pro

Silent Hill f reviews are out, and while the game has been received well and looks great on the PS5 and PS5 Pro, it suffers from some disappointing issues on Sony’s pricier console. Most of the issues revolve around lackluster implementation of PSSR, which we’ve seen in recent Konami-published games including Silent Hill 2 and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Silent Hill f brings back familiar PS5 Pro PSSR implementation issues

If you’re looking for a Silent Hill f review, head over to our sister site ComingSoon. As far as the aforementioned performance issues are concerned, tech YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits has a detailed video that offers a performance comparison between base PS5’s Quality Mode, Performance Mode, and PS5 Pro.

The gist is that although Silent Hill f’s PS5 Pro version is visibly superior to the base PS5 version, it suffers from the same visual problems that we’ve seen before with shadows and ambient occlusion, which is down to the way PSSR is implemented. Unfortunately, players cannot disable PSSR.

ElAnalistaDeBits tech review is corroborated by players who’ve managed to get their hands on physical copies of Silent Hill f early. Over on Reddit, players are complaining of PSSR flickering issues, and echoed demands of a PSSR toggle.

Here’s hoping a patch is incoming to resolve this.
