PS5 Pro players are increasingly expressing their frustration over lack of proper support in major games, and we can see why. Yesterday, Silent Hill f joined a growing list of highly anticipated releases that launched with poor PSSR implementation, causing visual issues for PS5 Pro owners.
Lack of proper PS5 Pro support in major games leaves players vexed
As we’ve been reporting recently, Silent Hill f isn’t the only game to launch without proper PS5 Pro support. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2 suffered from the same PSSR issues, and Borderlands 4 and Dying Light: The Beast launched without dedicated Pro enhancements within the same month.
Prior to PS5 Pro’s launch, there was some misunderstanding that led players to believe that Sony would mandate dev support for its pricey console. Sony didn’t manage those expectations, which is perplexing because it doesn’t look like it’s working with all major publishers, like we had assumed.
Over on Reddit, news of Silent Hill f’s PS5 Pro performance leaving much to be desired was met with console owners criticizing Sony. “Punished for having a Pro again,” wrote one player. “I love shelling out 715 bucks to be a beta tester, one of my favorite pastimes,” wrote another.
The entire thread is full of similar complaints, and Reddit isn’t the only place where we’ve spotted them. This morning, PS5 Pro issues spawned five pages (and counting) on ResetEra, and dozens of tweets.
Here’s hoping the incoming PS5 Pro upscaler update addresses these problems.
